About Us
SPIRIT OF CHILE has been created to promote the union of all Chileans living abroad who wish to stay informed about events that are affecting our country. We help people get in contact with other Chileans around the world and help our fellow Chilean residents in Chile when necessary.
To achieve this goal SPIRIT OF CHILE has created a continuous campaign that will be sending monetary help to non-profit organizations or other respectable organizations that need funds to meet a specific purpose and be able to help our devastated compatriots.
The 7.0 earthquake which struck Haiti, the poorest country in Latin America on January 12, 2010 had devastating consequences, considered one of the most serious humanitarian disasters in history. Likewise the powerful magnitude 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile on 27 February 2010 followed by a tsunami, not only caused a great loss of humanity and countless families to loss everything, but is even thought to have shifted the Earth on its axis, making the days shorter. According to Richard Gross, a researcher at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of the U.S. space agency NASA scientist who's preliminary calculation shows that the quake could have shortened 1.26 microseconds (one millionth of a second) the length of each day on Earth.
To overcome such disasters now and future emergencies SPIRIT OF CHILE invites you to literally “put the shirt on." In doing so, you can proudly wear an "I Love Chile" t-shirt and monetarily help those in need. When buying a shirt at PONTE LA CAMISETA.CL or SPIRIT OF CHILE.COM, 50% of proceeds will be donated directly to help affected victims.
